You may have seen this extraordinary white modern farmhouse project on HGTV back in 2020 – it’s an old timber-framed home that was extensively remodeled and added on to, and the result is pretty spectacular. We’re lucky that it’s not far from our home, in the hills of western Licking County, Ohio. The house and 10 acre site recently went up for sale, check out the listing here: https://apps.realtor.com/mUAZ/ab50db2a
The high-ceilinged main floor keeps a lot of timber-framing exposed, which perfectly sets off the white wall and black and white cabinets. We’re digging the casually-draped pendant lighting over the island.
A wider view of the first floor – it’s a farmhouse, so of course you’d want cow-print rugs, right? Check out the spiral stair leading to the loft above (photos of the loft below).
Antique farm implements make great decorations, especially against the dark gray wall. What are they? One looks like a pitchfork, but the other rake-looking things? We have no idea!
These shots are in the lower level. Lots of interesting “farm” decor here, we love the wood floors, the bar, the wine racks.
Someone had the clever idea of building the bath cabinets out of reclaimed barn wood. We don’t usually like sinks mounted like that, but it really works well here.
These are the windows we want in our owner’s bedroom someday – the views are probably something special, too.
This is the loft, accessed from the spiral stair. It’s set up as a home office and we think this would be a wonderful place to work.
One of the better mudrooms we’ve seen – lots of useful space, plenty of hooks, and lots of seating for putting on your boots for the wet winters we have here in Ohio.
Here’s the setting in the Licking County countryside. What a wonderful place to come home to, and what a great place to spend an evening with friends!
With a good wi-fi signal and a warm fire, I’d be out on the covered patio of this white modern farmhouse year-round!
