The South of Broad district in lovely Charleston South Carolina is the heart of the Historic District, at the tip of the peninsula, and the most charming part of the city (in our humble opinions). This restored 1905 Charleston two story home is typical of the homes you’ll find there, with a mixture of stylistic elements from Colonial Revival to Craftsman.
In Charleston, front porches are extra rooms – with shutters to block the summer sun, a comfy wicker loveseat, and a connection to the daily life of the street.
The foyer is filled with light – tons of windows, and white paint everywhere.
We love the huge bay window in this parlor! This would probably be our favorite room in the house!
That big, arched, leaded-glass window in the kitchen!
Another gorgeous sunny living space, with doors leading out to a private backyard.
The backyard of this restored Charleston two story home is just as private as the front is public – and one of the things we like best about the homes in Charleston.
