Older homes in hot climates depend on plenty of porches to make the summer months bearable. This restored Victorian-era home in Galveston, Texas has charming porches on the front and the back, and a pretty incredible backyard.
Two levels of porches overlook the backyard (see photos of the backyard at the end of this post).
Inside the front door is a big doorway supported by tall Composite columns, and a staircase with curved treads wrapping around the newel post.
This laundry room/mudroom is tight on space, but they’ve made good use the space they have. The built in cupboard handles laundry, liquor, coffee cups, and groceries.
The kitchen in this restored victorian-era home is small, too, but there are a lot of fun touches – the subway tile, the colorful stools and colorful plates, and plenty of light from the doors to the backyard.
The backyard has just about everything you could possibly think of – a pool, hot tub, fountains, grottoes, patios…
