I get a lot of questions about painting brick – should you or shouldn’t you? As long as you prep the surface correctly, and use the right kind of paint, it can look great – like this little painted brick cottage in Houston Texas.
I often advise my clients to “open up” the living spaces of their homes, if they’re trying to make the spaces flow better and feel bigger. But that’s not always the right move. Smaller homes like this painted brick cottage can lose to much of their essential character if you open them up too much. This one held onto the individual rooms – the arches between them is plenty of openness!
The all-white theme isn’t just on the outside – nice job with a palette of white, high-quality finishes!
These loft spaces are a lot of fun! I had an attic office like this once…I miss it but my knees don’t.
The bright blue door is the perfect accent for this cute little house!
