Long before Chip and Joanna made it is the latest cool thing, “shiplap” siding was the way cottages and farmhouses were finished on the inside. This yellow Craftsman Cottage is a great example of that, and it’s super cute, too.
This cozy family room (with shiplap on the walls) has a huge wood-burning stove! We can imagine how comfy that would be on cool, damp nights way up in Northwest Washington state!
The colors and textures in the kitchen are wonderful – look how they’ve taken the subway tile backsplash all the way down to the floor! And the board look of the cabinet doors mimics the look of the ceiling boards.
That same character even carries through to the laundry room.
I always forget how many stairs we have – this would help a lot! Seriously, the numbered stairs are perfect for this yellow Craftsman cottage.
The stairs lead up to this cute loft with a couple of kids’s bedrooms.
There’s even a little bit of shiplap in the master bath of this yellow Craftsman cottage.
